D3’s virtual Security Operations Center (vSOC) Enterprise Security Management solution allows for management of security incidents, guard tour activities, post orders, dispatching, tasks, and more via desktop or Windows Mobile Device. Inclusion of mobile devices (“Mobile vSOC”) for field security personnel provides a means for many organizations to implement the entire D3 vSOC system at a net savings.

Field security personnel without a Mobile vSOC option spend a greater percentage of their time away from their posts to complete tasks such as:
    • Complete incident reports and other forms
    • View post orders and bulletins
    • Receive tasks or other instruction that can’t effectively be communicated via radio
    • Document guard tour routes
    • Receive instruction for upcoming guard tour routes
    • Receive updated “banned persons” or “be on the lookout” lists

With D3 Mobile vSOC, these tasks are completed via mobile devices, eliminating time away from a post. In turn, the use of mobile devices increases the actual coverage provided by field security personnel.

For example, a facility with 400 hours a week of security officer staffing usually requires that staff spend 15% of their time completing the tasks bulleted above. If officers are now able to complete these tasks from their posts using Mobile vSOC, the overall field presence increases by 15% as a result. In turn, staff levels may be reduced by 15% without affecting the overall field presence.

Assuming a labor cost including salary and benefits of $17.50/hour per officer, the 15% labor reduction translates to a $4500/month savings. That savings will cover the entire cost of the D3 solution for this firm – including desktop and handheld licenses, mobile devices, GPS and remote management software, service agreements, managed support, managed training, and hosting.
