Clinton and guest, Sharad Mohan, talk about application programming interfaces (API) and why APIs are important to the security, governance, risk and compliance professional. From a Security Operations perspective, APIs provide a communication means between access control or CCTV systems and D3's Incident Reporting, Dispatch or Guard Tour software. From an Enterprise Case Collaboration perspective, APIs provide a real-time data communication with HR management systems like SAP or Oracle PeopleSoft. However, APIs allow rapid deployment of data transfer between multiple enterprise systems without the need for programmers or consultants.
