Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)

D3′s Geospatial Intelligence Analytics (GIA PSIM) Software allows global organizations to visualize risk and rapidly respond to threats by connecting access control, video management and life safety systems to a hyper-functional Google Maps interface where D3’s incident management, guard tour and security dispatching solutions complete the documentation, corrective action and analytics workflow. With geo-located external feeds—including weather, crime and social media—and real-time processing of any event or incident across systems, departments and sites, GIA PSIM solution provides a common operating picture and enterprise-wide situational awareness for meeting the continuous needs of global security operations.

Access Control Systems

With GIA PSIM organizations can manage any access control event from detection through resolution and easily generate associated trending, analytics and reporting. GIA streamlines response to ACS events by capturing associated surveillance footage, triggering dispatches of the nearest security officer and consolidating the event’s detection-response-outcome process into a detailed incident report available for subsequent investigation or analysis.

Video Management Systems

GIA PSIM’s hyper-functional map interface displays surveillance camera icons and associated coverage in the exact location within the facility. These icons are color-coded to indicate if an action is required, or if surveillance has been triggered by an ACS event or standard operating procedure. Operators can stream live or recorded video, attach surveillance video to incident reports and dispatches, correlate access control or security system events with coverage—even push dispatches with video to security officers in the field.

More Integrations

GIA PSIM is a flexible, open-platform software system that can incorporate many security systems and custom data sources. Currently, GIA PSIM offers mass notification capability, in addition to executive tracking. These functionalities enhance the operator’s ability to quickly and efficiently respond to global incidents such as terrorism, extreme weather or any number of internal and external threats.

Custom Data Feeds

Weather Tracking

GIA PSIM’s Weather tab is a comprehensive toolset that uses satellite, radar and alert systems to track current and historical temperatures, airport forecasts, general weather forecasts, severe weather, wind speed, cloud cover, tropical storms, current hurricanes and their projected paths, past hurricanes, oceanic tides, USGS river and flood reports, and FEMA alerts. Information is geo-located in real-time, allowing operators to see where sites, personnel or other assets may be impacted. Pre-configured workflows ensure that notifications, emergency plans and related activities are carried out, even during a hurricane or major event.

Crime, News & Traffic

Leading news, crime, traffic and social media sources are built into GIA PSIM, including from Thomsen-Reuters, Associated Press, BBC, CNN, CBC, US Transit, Global Traffic Information, Twitter and more. GIA PSIM monitors these sources for keywords, names, locations, or other pre-configured information, and then plots relevant icons accurately on the map, producing an alert, and thereby ensuring the source is read by an operator. Custom sources—such as feeds for industry crime or metropolitan traffic—can be built into the system as requested.

Custom Data Feeds

Particular industries face ongoing threats, and GIA PSIM can help organizations visualize risk, plot external incidents and prepare assets in order to mitigate their impact. For example, GIA PSIM can display a geo-located feed of attempted bank robberies, which helps financial institutions identify risk, mobilize assets and prepare branches if they are in the affected area. Solutions for tracking copper theft, terrorism, earthquakes, disease outbreak and gang activity area also available.

Incident Management

GIA PSIM displays layers of geo-located incidents in real-time. Using D3’s robust filters, operators can view open or historical IRs, assign resources, consolidate related dispatch and systems data, and escalate IRs to an investigation. Trending and analysis can be performed on any field in the system and new forms, workflows or notifications are quickly created and deployed to collect information on rapidly-developing situations or emergencies.

Dispatching

GIA PSIM’s dispatching component provides real-time tracking of an event from call receipt through resource deployment, arrival and outcome. Dispatchers use the real-time officer locator to assign Security, Maintenance and third party resources. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) streamline management of systems-generated events, automatically dispatching the nearest available officer to an entry attempt, capturing video from nearby surveillance cameras, and attaching it to the dispatch record in order to support responding resources and enhance post-event analysis.

Security Officers

Security officers equipped with the D3 Mobile application—for iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile—are tracked on GIA PSIM’s facility map in real-time as they patrol scheduled and self-initiated routes. The device’s GPS is complemented by GIA PSIM’s geo-fencing and advanced checkpoints—able to track officers in basements and high-rises—or other areas not suitable for GPS. Officer availability and location is determined at-a-glance, streamlining dispatch response and ensuring the most effective assignment of resources.

industry quote

“D3 GIA occupies a very unique point in the marketplace for companies like ours … we need to centralize control of our video management and access control systems but we want to do it from a platform that can not only process an event, but document it, and pass any information on to a responding asset, be it an incident report or security officer. We also love the ability to show custom feeds on the map, so we can spot trends and coordinate spatial queries to our people in the area.”
